SUMMER SQUASH

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE? GREEN OR YELLOW BEANS? I LIKE THEM BOTH. I FREEZE THE GREEN.

It's that wonderful time of year when the produce comes on pretty rapidly. Despite the very dry weather we have had....my dad has been running his sprinklers all day every day for his sandy soil. I have to run mine every other day for my clay soil. Unfortunately, the electric bill has pretty much gone up 30-40%.


 Zucchini, cucumbers, yellow summer squash, green and yellow beans, peppers of all shapes, sizes and colors. My dad has even dug us some of his potatoes. It's nice when my grocery bill goes down. Being vegetarian or not we all enjoy the fresh veggies. I have made stuffed zucchini boats, three bean salad, refrigerator pickles and many more summer favorites. I can't wait for the tomatoes.
